NARS G-Spot Mulitple & Miss Liberty Blush - Holiday 2011

NARS holiday collection  is called Miss Liberty and features 2 new shades in  NARS products we all know and love- their blush and The Multiple. 

Everyone should have at least 1 Multiple in their makeup collection and  new G-Spot is a great fall to winter shade. NARS calls it gold infused rose, but on me, it's a bit more plummy rose with  little shimmer. It's quite pretty either way and a fast way to add some rosy color to winter pale cheeks but deep enough for darker skintones .

Miss Liberty Blush  is a highlighting blush in a  beautiful, shimmery light  nude/peach. It's very sheer but on  pale skins like myself I can use it alone for subtle color. Of course it goes great over a deeper shade as well , since as the name says, it's highlighting.

NARS New Gaiety Blush Previews at Thakoon Spring 2012

NARS is known for their blush as much as any makeup item they have. We've all heard of Orgasm right ? In fact most probably own it. Torrid is personally one of my favs.

During fashion week they debuted some new products and one is a new blush used here called Gaiety. It will be out in Spring. Also new is a tinted moisturizer.

This is another product from kkcenterhk which was newly released sometime back. So when I was asked to review this product - I was mad with glee and personally pick this Palette in  "GREEN" among the other three colors of BLUE, GREEN, and PURPLE .

My Experience with the Product: 

I love their shipping method, they securely wrap the product into bubble warp to prevent any damages and finally it came in a very good condition.
I was amazed to see such a small sleek and cute palette and I completely fell for its packaging. 
The cover of the palette opens up like a book and can be closed securely - Thanks to magnetic locks it has.
The product comes with 12 shimmery eyeshadows and 2 matte blushes - along with applicator. 
The applicator provided with the product is not that great - I would not use it.
The instructions provided on the product makes it great for a newbie at makeup. 
The eye shadows are shimmery and can be great if you combine it with other eyeshadows you have. 
I did experience a bit of fall out with the eyeshadows but it was nothing that I can't handle. 
The texture of the eyeshadow is bit powdery. I found blending of these eyeshadows easy. 
The texture of the blush was also good and smooth.

I had a difficult time swatching this one - The pink blush was smooth while the peach blush was a bit chalky. The pigmentation of the peach blush is very sheer.

Lancome Fall-Blush Multilumière in Maison Lancôme

Lancome Fall is on counter now and the star is this new  Blush Multilumière in Maison Lancôme ,  which will look as great now as it will in fall, if you can bear to  use it.

I haven't seen it myself in person so I need to make a trip to the counter. Have any of you looked at it or tried it yet? 

L'Oreal The One Sweep Blush- Part 2

When I first posted about these a reader asked for more info, so here we go.

These are the new duo Studio Secrets One Sweep blushes from L'Oreal . Meant to  color and contour all at once they come with  a wide brush that actually does work. It picks up both colors and applies them pretty well. I am a brush person, meaning good professional style brushes,  so I ended up using my contour and blush brushes and did get better results. They picked up more pigment .

Speaking of pigment, the colors look bright in the pan but are semi- sheer on. They  look soft and not as bright as  you might think. The pink shade in the Poppy duo has more color on than the peach in the Nectar duo shown.

One nice feature is in the packaging- a large mirror in the lid above the brush. Makes for a perfect blush to carry with you for  touch ups.

The One Sweep Blush should be  in stores now in 4 shades.

L’Oréal Paris Studio Secrets - The OneSweep Sculpting Blush

In stores this month  is L’Oréal Paris Studio Secrets Professional The OneSweep Sculpting Blush. Giving  you two colors for easy contouring/highlighting all in one.

Shown are two of the four  shades -Poppy( top) and Nectar. A "fishtail" brush is enclosed that allows you to sweep on both shades at once.

MAC Semi- Precious Mineralize Skinfinish Swatches- Pearl & Rose Quartz

Semi -Precious from MAC is  an entire collection of  Mineralize as well as four new Split Fibre brushes , lipsticks and Cremesheen Glass. There are Mineralize Eyeshadows, Blushes and Skinfinishes. 

First up the Skinfinish. Two of the four available-  Semi -Precious Pearl and Semi- Precious Rose Quartz.  I am a big fan of Skinfinish in general and these get my love too. My favorite items  of the collection. They  can be used as a highlighter , a  blush or  blend the two  circles together for a new shade.

Semi -Precious is on counter July 7th .

Elizabeth Arden Sun Kissed Coral Pure Mineral Blush

Part of Elizabeth Arden's summer line, Bronze in Bloom, is this super  new coral blush called Pure Finish Mineral Cheekcolor in  Sun Kissed Coral.

It's a mineral solid that you shave off as needed. The color looks much brighter in the pan than on your skin. It goes on a sheer  and is a warm light coral for a natural flush with no visible shimmer but it's not flat either.

It also comes with the tiniest kabuki brush I've ever seen that also fold open to make a bigger brush. The brush is not the softest, ones included in compacts rarely are but it sure is cute.

This is great to complement your summer looks  and great if you want color but not bronzing.

MAC Skinsheen Bronzing Sticks from Surf Baby

MAC summer is finally here. Always one of  my favorites. Many nice products in Surf Baby but I was most anticpating the Skinsheen Bronzing Sticks ( along with the return of SunTints).

Skinsheen sticks are new , LE , and come in three shades.  These are very dark as you can see by my image .  The third shade  I don't have but is  darker yet per MAC's images.  Shown left is Tan Tint and right is Billionaire Bronze.

These  blend well and down  less dark, but they still  are pretty deep. The pigment is rich, as is the formula. These are emollient and creamy, although no moisturizing ingredients are listed.  They also really last and seem like they will hold up even underwater.

Tan Tint , the lightest shade does work on my pale skin. (I am not super pale, but usually one shade darker than the palest in foundations. )  It looks  a little deep on me but not  bad, really . I do wish one thing, that these had shimmer.  They are not matte but close.

 Overall I do like them and if you have a darker skintone then you will really win with these. They remind naturally of NARS Mulitples, but have a very different feel to them.  At $ 29.50 they are also less expensive than Multiples.

MAC Fashion Flower Beauty Powders- Alpha Girl and Light Sunshine

Fashion Flower from MAC  is full of pretty   and light spring shades. The eyeshadows ( pics coming next post) and Beauty Powders are embossed with a floral design.

The two new  Beauty Powder shades are Alpha Girl ( left) and Light Sunshine ( right). Both go on skin  almost exactly as they look in the compact. Alpha Girl has enough pigment to be a blush  and is a really pretty shade of pinked peach.  Both have   subtle shimmer.

These will be on counter May 5 in US and July internationally ( dates always subject to change).  These are LE.

Pixi Week of Wake Up Makeup Palette

Pixi's newest palette has all you need for the week  marked out. Each day Monday thru Sunday has it's own eye shadows, lipsticks and blush in one main compartment and 2 slide outs, with the blush embossed with the days name  Now you're not bound to the days by any  means, but  for travel esp.  you can easily have 7 different  makeup looks by taking this one palette along. 

Size wise it's pretty good. Not tiny but not huge. About 6 " across and almost 5" top to bottom.

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Sea Star Bronzing Blush

I love the Bronze Goddes collection each year from Estee Lauder. First of all because all the bronzes and golds are perfect for me and of course there's the re -release of the Bronze Goddess fragrance.

They always add in some new items to love and this season it's new Bronze Goddess Soleil fragrance ( read my review at Beautystat here ) and  the  also new Bronze Goddess Sea Star Bronzing Blush .

Not only is this super pretty , it's also very wearable. The colors will suit most anyone ( only a tiny bit of  overspray here by the way) . The bronze is not deep but a soft medium shade with  light pinky peach in the starfish. It looks glowy and warm on .  As the name says it more blush than bronzer but can be used as both.

MAC Creamblend Blush

Cremeblend blush is back to be added to the  MAC permanent line after a brief appearance in the Lillyland collection.

These new shades are made to be skintone matching, good for contouring( the deeper shades ) and to give skin "glow". They are very creamy with a lot of slip and blend easily. Shades in the pot are darker than what ends up on skin and they can be blended down softer or re-applied for deeper color.

Cremeblend blush  is also highly emollient with mango seed butter , shea butter and olive fruit  oil. But even though they are super creamy, once on skin they dry down nicely but do not feel dry.  I wouldn't recommend them for oily skin, but  those with normal to dry,  especially the drier skins who have trouble with powder, should give these a try.

Hourglass Aura Lip Stain & Cheek Stain

At  long last I have found a lip stain I love and will use. The new Aura lipstain from Hourglass.   Aura is the name of two new products from Hourglass- Cheek Stain and Lip Stain .

What makes Aura Lip Stain so great ? First, has a lot of pigment . It's not sheer,( despite shades being described as such) but has at least what I would call medium coverage. It looks more like an actual lipstick on. Next, it's not as drying as those I've tried before. Yes it's still dry, but not drying. I do end up prefering to apply some balm over it  but it looks great on it's own. Third, it's not matte . It has a little pearlescence to it. Lastly it's blendable.

It lasts quite long, I went about 3 hours with no fade at all and then had dinner ,after which there was still the tiniest bit of color there.

The shade shown in both  lip and cheek colors is Petal. 

The new cheek stain was among the products used  by Hourglass Beauty Director Michael Pierce  on some legendary models like Carol Alt and Niki Taylor  at the recent Adrienne Vittadini show  during New York fashion week.

MAC Wonder Woman Mighty Aphrodite Blush

Part( Much?) of the allure of the MAC Wonder Woman collection is the packaging.   I love the outer packaging best, the boxes. The comic imagery there is fun and very detailed.

Of course in the boxes  is some great makeup. There are   2  blush duos and one  is Mighty Aphrodite. This is the lighter of the two and will work on most any skintone I think. It's a very pretty  medium /light  peachy pink with a small  additional brighter  pink shade .  Both have gold pearl shimmer. MAC describes Mighty Aphrodite  as having peach tones but they really seem to me to be  more pink.

Pixi Lumi Lux Radiance Powder Palette

Pixi beauty  has done some changes over at their website  for a re-launch including a complexion matching tool  and rewards program .They  also have some fun new products out.

One is the Lumi Lux Radiance Powder . It's a pretty blend of pinks , peaches and a nude shade called Peach Petal.
It's a great highlighter and has light to medium pigment so if you're super pale you could use it as a blush as well.  The powder is soft, blendable and shimmery but  a heavy shimmer.  It's is also quite large at 4 1/2 inches long .

 Lumi Lux Radiance  will debut in February or March and has a retail of $ 26.00

Michelle Williams debuts new Chanel foundation at Golden Globes

I love Michelle Williams makeup here and she does the pixie do so well. Better that we can't see her dress because it doesn't come off quite as well. It was pretty but needed to be fitted more in the bodice. It's all forgiven for that gorgeous coral lip and peach cheeks. One of the highlights of Chanel's Spring line on counters now is blush in Espeigle used here.


Another of the products used by makeup artist Jeanine Lobell ( founder of Stila ) was a new Chanel foundation called  Vitalumiere Aqua in B10 .  This is out in March.
