MAC Pro Longwear Lipglass

If you want a  really long wearing lipgloss then look no further than MAC's Pro Longwear Lipglass. This new ( ish) gloss wears like glue. I got several hours of wear including drinking out of mine. That's unusual for a gloss.

It is more tacky than most glosses but  not drying. It has moisture and it sticks.

The new ybf Luxe Lip and Lock-It Kit is so glam. Sequined mesh? Helloooooooo .

Salam Hayek Nuance Beauty On Sale now at CVS

Salma Hayek's Nuance beauty line exclusively for CVS is online now. You know normally when you hear a celeb is doing a line of any kind, you really wonder, will it be even remotely worth while? I have to say, without seeing these in person, I am thinking  this line is really worth a look. Especially that wicked looking lip quad. I mean it's futuristic spaceship looking and I need it .  At 9.99 it's priced nice for 4 shades and one cool compact.

Flirt- Big Flirt Jumbo Lipgloss

Have you seen the newest from Flirt- Big Flirt?

Big Flirt lipglosses are super cute as they are BIG( .37 oz) as in double the size of normal lipglosses.  For reference they are somewhat like the MAC Wonder Woman glosses.  They remind me a lot of those extra large lipsmackers of my youth.

Guerlain Terracotta Gloss 2011

This year's Terracotta lipglosses from Guerlain are a trio of sheer brights . Part of the Terra Inca collection and LE , there's  a pink( Salsa), an orange ( Mambo) and  a red ( Tango).  Don't fear the  colors though, these go on sheer with a nice bit of color but nothing so bold as a regular gloss or lipstick.

 I am fond of the orange Mambo, as not only is a great color on me, but it's a way to wear orange with  going  too bold.  I'll do bold on rare occasions. This orange can be brought out anytime. The one thing missing is SPF. Last year they had it, which was great. This year its not in there.  But it's simple enough to apply a lip balm with sunscreen underneath.

The glosses are  non sticky , and feel smooth and balm like on lips.

Dior Addict Ultra Gloss Crystal Nude in Sweet Peach- Summer 2011

Dior Ultra Gloss Crystal Nude in Sweet Peach # 047 is  part of  Dior Electric Tropics Summer  line

It's a jelly, with a very sheer  peach tint. It's been ages since I used a Dior gloss( Their lipsticks-huge favorites ). This gloss is so smooth and  hydrating. It feels fab on lips, non tacky,  with a lot of slip  and makes a great top coat over a deeper shade or  one of the brighter oranges that are so hot this season but  not everyone's cup of tea.

LORAC Hot Off The Red Carpet Collection

LORAC usually puts out well put togther and well priced collections, and the Hot Off The Red Carpet is no exception.

First off the bag. Not all sets with bags have great bags, right ? This one is metal mesh somewhat like Whiting and Davis vintage ones. It has an inside pocket and detachable wrist strap.  I like a swank  everyday makeup bag so this is going to be my new one.

Inside you get a Multiplex 3D  gloss in 3D. I love these glosses and have 3D already in my stash.  Then you have 2   Baked eyeshadow duos ( one broke in transit which is why you see little of it ). There is turquoise/bronze ( Tease Me), and  golden/ deep blackened brown ( Tempt Me) and a  Baked Bronzer ( Tantalize me), which  goes on  sheer with just a little color .

Bite Beauty

Bite Beauty is a new line that just hit Sephora that with a line of lip products from color to balms . The line is based on   lip products good enough to eat  with natural and food grade ingredients. They use  Reservatrol  from red wine to load each lip product with antioxidants. Each lipstick is said to have the equivalent of 5 glasses of red wine's antioxidant benefit.

I decided to try out the two balm products - Superfruit Butter and Vitamin Gels. I have Blueberry in the Butter and Grapefruit in the Gel.

Superfruit Butters-  Called a multi use product that can be used on lips, nails etc. and containing whole superfruits like blueberry  or acai for antioxidant power. Shea and Palm butters along with Jojoba provide the moisture. 

The butter leaves a bit of an opaque cover on the lips. It's   thick and creamy and has only a light blueberry scent and taste. The little flecks in the pot are said to be actual fruit pieces and you can feel them a tiny bit but really barely at all. These come in a pot very reminiscent of MAC's original screw top pots. Brought back memories.

Vitamin Gel- The gels comes in great flavors with essential  oils and fruit juices in there as well as Vitamin C.   It's a  thick clear gel that imparts shine  and is  highly moisturizing.  This one has more flavor than the butter and while not strong definitely smells like grapefruit. I like that it goes on thickly and seems to last long on lips. My favorite of the two balms.

I like the idea that these have antioxidants built in and are ok to be ingested. After all we basically "eat" most of our lip products so the better the ingredients, one would assume the better for us.

Bath & Body Works Royal Collection Pocket Bacs & Liplicious

Are you ready for the Royal Wedding? I am. I have been a royal watcher since childhood and eagerly await William's big day. Sadly despite my decades of support , it appears my invite has been lost in the mail

The fever  has even  caught on at Bath and Body Works who have tweaked  both the Pocket Bac and  Liplicious lines with a funny royal/ brit bent.  Personally I think Ms. Kate needs to give these out at her Hen  do (  what we call a bachelorette party ) .

Viva Glam Gaga 2 Lipglass & Lipstick Swatches

Today is the day Lady Gaga's newest   for Viva Glam  hits stores . Viva Glam Gaga 2 is LE but will be in store displays for one year.

The lipstick is an Amplified and more beige and flat than the gloss. It's very muted and would especially make a great layering color to tone down too dark  lip shades .

The gloss is my pick of the two. Usually I love lipsticks but the gloss has a pink  base and really looks great on.

Both are very neutral and easy to wear.  The Mom who usually wears only light pinks/peaches and is a medium skintone,  light blonde tried the lipstick and it looked amazing on her. She rarely reaches for nudes  and I'm glad she went for this.

MAC Glamgloss- Summer Preview at Fashion Week Fall 2011

Summer looks  to bring a new MAC lipgloss called Glamgloss. It was used yesterday in the Behnaz Sarafpour show.   MAC says it will be released in Summer 2011. No more details but you can get a bit of a peek in the images.

The  Glamgloss shade is  What Comes Naturally along  with Tanarama lipstick over lips.

Estee Lauder for Harper's Bazaar Contest LE Lipstick & Gloss

 Estee Lauder  has teamed up with Harpers Bazaar  for  the magazine's Fabulous at Every Age contest . They  have created  2 lip products -Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in Bitten Fig and  Pure Color Lipgloss in Red Tango along with a pretty white carry case. The white case is a GWP of either the lipstick or  gloss.

 The items are  available for a limited time exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue stores nationwide, as well as on Saks.com and EsteeLauder.com.

Make Up For Ever Lab Shine Lipgloss

 First up about  new Lab Shine glosses- they are highly emollient. I felt so much moisture as soon as I applied thanks to the hyaluronic acid and Camelia oil in there.   For winter weather, thats a big plus. Then there's  the great pigment  and  they last long. Add  in  a nice  non-tacky feeling  and plenty of shine  and it's time to be excited by a gloss again.

I am all about the Metal  formula, but I also tried Star and it was really nice as well. Metal is  creamy and has a thicker texture than Star.  It's smooth but deeply pigmented and while metallic not as molten as I expected. ( Keeping in mind  that for me ,the more metallic the better.) So don't fear looking like a metal mouth. It glows big and looks great but you need to blend this formula a bit.   

The Star  gloss  packs great pigment and just a little pearl. It seems almost a  satin finish.  Medium coverage but a bit sheer, I liked it best with 2 coats.

There are 35 new shades across 3 formulas- Diamond, Star and Metal. Diamond being the sheerest with glitter and the brands Diamond Powder in it.  Star is mother of pearl with Star powder,   and Metal is described as chrome with has Metal powder .

My shades shown are M6  and S10.

Cover Girl NatureLuxe Gloss Balm

NatureLuxe is  new entry from Cover Girl with a  foundation and Gloss Balm. Being a total tinted lip balm collector/fanatic, I  was awaiting the Gloss Balm .

I have the shade Coral , which a sheer orange/coral. Because these are a balm, they are lightly pigmented, but I am happy to say, pigmented enough to see the color. I have a nice corally shine to my lips with this and can use it alone .

It has shine but not quite that of a gloss. A bit more subdued . It's also very emollient . The moisture has been surprisingly long lasting, more than some of my regular balms. That moisture comes from mango, shea and other natural butters according to Cover Girl.  It's also SPF 15.

With NatureLuxe Cover Girl is trying to use less synthetics and add in more natural ingredients.

Gloss Balm hits stores in January and will have 16 shades, all designed by makeup uber guru Pat McGrath.

I'm thinking I'm going to need far more than one shade . How about you ?

Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss in Genie

Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss is Chanel's newest lip offering out last month.  Genie is a favorite . It goes on a light peach , lighter than it looks on the wand. It does lean a bit orange/coral but very little. The color is pigmented but sheer at the same time. Genie makes a nice pop to an otherwise  neutral look and really complements a bronzed face.

This gloss feels super on the lips, soft, and very moisturizing . It's also not overly sticky and lasts well for a gloss type . But then it's not simply a gloss, but a lipstick /gloss hybrid . More gloss than stick but not a typical gloss either (  Is anything Chanel typical? I think not and  am thankful).

I'm a  big fan of Hourglass cosmetics and I think this  is the first time I have seen a holiday set. The Extreme Sheen Set has 3 of their hydrating and highly pigmented glosses.

MAC & Disney Venomous Villains Lipglass

The lipglasses  from Venomous Villains are not only super pretty shades but I think the character graphic shows up better on the clear tubes than the solid lipstick background. 

Shown are 5 of the lipglasses . From left are Devilishly Stylish, Wrong Spell, Strange Potion, Wicked Ways and Hot House.

All are beauties unlike our Villains. Hot House is not a shade I personally can wear, but it's a gorgeous  shimmer raspberry purple.  My favorite is Devilishly Stylish, a shimmery peachy pink nude. Lets face it, all are fun.
