Cover Girl Nature Luxe Mascara

Cover Girl has added mascara as the latest to it's Nature Luxe line .

Having a name with Nature in it, we know not to expect showgirl lashes so Nature Luxe mascara is more natural  and less bold than say, the Blast line  but it's not that natural. Normally I do like a bolder lash but I am also more about length than volume and while again I did not achieve Blast proportions with Nature Luxe  I  got decent length with 3 coats. Two coats do nicely for a more basic look. But either way it's more than barely there . Your lashes will look "more".   The formula is very soft , easily buildable and lashes aren't stiff and  there are no clumps. It goes on very smoothly.

Mine is the regular version( not water resistant) but that's one of the things I love most about Cover Girl mascaras, that  they all are very smudge proof . The Nature Luxe is as well. All day wear with no smudges, no running.

This is the one to go to if you want a  mascara that looks good  but is nothing over the top . It's your lashes but better , but not dramatic either.

Cover Girl Lip Perfection

Cover Girl recently asked me to test their new Lip Perfection lipsticks for  7 days and report back. They sent a nice shade selection and I went to town trying some of the shades. The new lipstick is said to increase lip's hydration and comfort level in 7 days  as well as being a full coverage lipstick.

Lip Perfection  reminds me of  the lipsticks of many years ago, the ones our moms or grandmoms wore, that were  as I said above, full coverage and also loaded with pigment . To me, they are old fashioned types  with a modern edge. They sit heavier on the lips than most I am used too, but yet have  a light feel as well. And the heavy duty moisture is  a modern touch that is great.

This is one of those rare , pretty much never happens ,times when I am going to say I like the satin finish better than the shimmer. The shimmer is pearl, a heavy pearl and there's something   about it that just doesn't look right on me. I adore shimmer normally, if you read here at all you know that. But this is almost an opaque shimmer. The satin however is very nice. Not flat, it has sheen but no pearl.

The pigment  in Lip Perfection really lasts. I had almost a stain like finish on my lips after a couple hours wear and that stain lasted hours more.

As for the conditioning part, they aren't lying. These are  soft and softening. Creamy and moisturizing.  And that was right off from the first wear. They glide right on lips. As for my lips, well it's hot out, and I have no isssues with lips being dry or chapped right now, so I can't say if my lips felt much better after 7 days.  Will they make your lips feel softer if they are chapped ? Yes, they will. They'll be especially good in the cold weather, when you can really test out the moisture benefits.

Lip Perfection is in stores now  , and available in 42 shades.

Shown , top to bottom , are  Delight , Kiss and Feline.

Cover Girl NatureLuxe Gloss Balm

NatureLuxe is  new entry from Cover Girl with a  foundation and Gloss Balm. Being a total tinted lip balm collector/fanatic, I  was awaiting the Gloss Balm .

I have the shade Coral , which a sheer orange/coral. Because these are a balm, they are lightly pigmented, but I am happy to say, pigmented enough to see the color. I have a nice corally shine to my lips with this and can use it alone .

It has shine but not quite that of a gloss. A bit more subdued . It's also very emollient . The moisture has been surprisingly long lasting, more than some of my regular balms. That moisture comes from mango, shea and other natural butters according to Cover Girl.  It's also SPF 15.

With NatureLuxe Cover Girl is trying to use less synthetics and add in more natural ingredients.

Gloss Balm hits stores in January and will have 16 shades, all designed by makeup uber guru Pat McGrath.

I'm thinking I'm going to need far more than one shade . How about you ?

Retail  will be $ 6.49 approx.

CoverGirl LiquiLineBlast Eyeliner

Cover Girl's Blast line continues to grow, this time with LiquiLine Blast eyeliner- colorful eyeliners with a smudger at the end. These glide on so easily like many of the high end brands and really don't need the smudger side much. The pencil point is fine and leaves a nice fine, even line. The color pigments are bold and these hold up well on the eye.

Shown are Green Glow and Violet Voltage. Green Glow is a bright lime green and very fun. I also have Silver Spark ( not shown) which is not silver but a deep gunmetal grey . It's a perfect deep, dark grey .

Shades:

• Black Fire
• Brown Blaze
• Violet Voltage
• Silver Spark
• Blue Bloom
• Green Glow

Suggested retail is $ 7.99 . In stores now.

Cover Girl Lash Blast Fusion

The newest Blast from Cover Girl is Lash Blast Fusion. Ready now for pre-order , it will be in stores in April.

The new Lash Blast Fusion has the huge wand that Lash Blast and Lash Blast Volume have. I think this one might actually be bigger. I have a hard time with these huge wands. I really don't get better results from a bigger brush than a smaller. It's the mascara itself that seems to make the most difference for me.

Lash Blast Fusion does deliver on big volume , maybe a bit more even than the Volume formula. Fusion is also supposed to lengthen, but I didn't see much difference in that area. I used 2- 3 coats to get thick, big but not overly long lashes. It lasted all day with no smudges ( big points for that) but I think overall I like Lash Blast Length the best. That version seems to be the least popular of the Blasts but it just works for me. Yes I would like more volume, but I do like the wispy, very long lashes I get with Length .

Cover Girl Smoky ShadowBlast

A couple months ago I told you about the new items coming from Cover Girl and the online pre sale. Now I finally have tried in person the new Smoky ShadowBlast.

When you see and use this, you wonder why no one thought of it before. A 2 in 1 creamy eyeshadow pencil that has a light and dark shade. The darker one even has a pointed end for precise lining.

I have the Bronze Fire duo - gold and deep bronze. Two of my favorite colors. This applies like a dream. Light shade swiped on eyelid, deep shade in crease and on eyeline if you want. It's that easy.
Not only is this good to keep in your bag for easy touch ups, but if you are not handy with a makeup brush or pressed for time, you can get that smoked, lined look quick.

Colors have been designed by Pat McGrath and are:
Onyx Smoke
Bronze Fire
Silver Sky
Citrus Flair
Purple Plume
Tempest Blue

In stores January, but you may see it sooner .

Retail is $ 7.49

Cover Girl ShineBlast Lipgloss

Cover Girl's ShineBlast is their newest gloss and entry in the " Blast" line.

These fun glosses impart a jelly like wash of sheer color on lips. They have no tacky lipgloss feeling at all, but more like a glossy balm. The formula has oils in it to give moisture as well as plenty of shine.

The best part , to me, was the flavor. It's rare to say that about a gloss but these taste like watermelon, a very sweet watermelon.

These are very summer-y in a way but the high moisture content makes them perfect for cold winter temps too.

They launch in stores in January but the pre-sale is still going on thru the beginning of Dec.

Log-on to www.covergirl.com/blastpresale to take advantage of the pre-sale.
Pre-Sale on thru Dec. 5 or while supplies last.
- If you visit Drugstore.com you can save $5 and earn free shipping when you purchase all three new Blast products ( ShineBlast, Smoky ShadowBlast and LashBlast Length Mascara). While supplies/offer lasts.

Smoky Shadow Blast looks fab. After seeing it in Marie Claire, I'm waiting to get my hands on one. There's two coordinating shades ready to go, one for base, one for lining and crease. Easy.

ShineBlast has the patented ShineSculpt™ tip which is a "uniquely shaped applicator that delivers more shine in a single swipe than the leading gloss"

Cover Girl Outlast Lip Stains

When a makeup artist talks you listen. So thats what I did, when I met Quinn Murphy, friend of a friend in the beauty biz , a sweetheart of a guy and a makeup artist who has done up Mariah Carey , and Miranda Kerr among others.

We chatted about long wear products and he mentioned he really loved the Cover Girl Outlast lip stains. I'd seen the ads, was vaguely intrigued, now of course I had to get some.

Here's the deal. They really do last well. Maybe not all day , but I get a good 5 hours wear at least. These pack a lot of pigment, too. No sheer stain here. They look like real lipstick color. They work fine on their own or layered. I like to apply Chaptick True Shimmers over mine or a light cream/gloss and they still hold up really well.

Cover Girl had their celeb makeup artist Jake Bailey ( he did Kyra Sedgewick for the Emmys last week) at the CVS Reinventing Beauty Suite during Fashion week and although I didn't have time to talk to him, I heard from another blogger a tip- apply the stain with a brush. Now it's a felt tip marker , but I tried it and it works . You get more precision lining, but really the pen is super easy to use as is.

Cover Girl Lash Blast Length

Cover Girl's newest mascara entry is Lash Blast Length.

Lash Blast Length is just that- all about length. The wand itself is incredibly long and thin. The brush has 450 bristles, 20 % more than Lash Blast. The accent is not on volume here.

Lash Blast Length has Elasta-Nylon fibers in it to make longer lashes. The new formula is also flake free. Cover Girl has had their smudge free formula for years now and it's been one of my favorites. I need all the smudge free help I can get and I am a fan of most of their mascaras for that reason and I also get good results.

I liked but didn't love Lash Blast, but am a fan of Volume Exact, Fantastic Lash and Professional Lash .

With Lash Blast Length I got very long, defined lashes. They lasted all day , no smudges and no drooping. I like my lashes as long as can be, who doesn't really ? So I used 3 coats and there wasn't any build up or clumps.

The mascara comes in both a regular and waterproof version.

Colors are :
Very-Black
Black
Brown-Black
Brown

The pre-sale is happening now online: http://www.covergirl.com/ for more info.

Stores will have it Sept.
Retail will be approx.$ 7.49
