Curel Ultra Healing Lotion

One of my  favorite body lotions, and that's really saying something when you think of how many I have, love and use, is Curel Ultra Healing.

What's so special? Well  it moisturizes like crazy without ever  being heavy and sinks in fast.  Then there's the scent. It has orange peel oil in it , so there is a very light orange scent, sort of like Tang.  I love citrus , so that makes it even better.

Now Curel has re-formulated things a bit  and added their  exclusive Ceramide Complex which they say helps to lock moisture in even more by replenishing ceramides.

 Curel Ultra Healing is a bargain too. At $ 7.99, the  bonus size bottle is huge at 16.25 oz , which should  last all winter  and then some.  I think my first bottle lasted through 2 cold winters , but  it was in rotation with a few others.

Votre Vu SnapDragon Crème Pour Le Corps

Sometimes words cannot suffieciently describe how good something smells,  and I wish there were smell-a vison computer screens . Votre Vu's new Snapdragon Body Creme is one of those.

It's called a Citrus Drench and it is all citrus in a big way. If you love citrus and I really do, then you need to smell this. It's so good, with  a zesty blend of lemon, grapefruit and orange. No fake-ness here and  every so often I open the jar just to sniff it. It's totally aromatherapeutic.

The Body Shop Holiday 2011- Candied Ginger & Cranberry Joy

The Body Shop's Cranberry is probably my all time favorite bath gel ever. I've been using it since it came out which has been at least 10 years I think.  Every year I hope they bring it back and so far they have.

Called Cranberry Joy this season, it still smells amazing and is available in a wide product range as well as those fun gift sets, which I've given as gifts an equally long time , making my friends very happy.

New  this year is the Candied Ginger scent. Candied Ginger is zesty ,  a little fruity and a little spicy - not baked goods ginger like gingerbread.  It's  slightly sweet,  fizzy  and very delish.

Julie Bowen dons Jergens for The Emmys

You know how stars always say they are just like everyone else  right? Well I think most of the time, probably not.  But on rare occasions they share some of the same things you and I do and on Emmy night , Best Actress in a Comedy winner Julie Bowen prepped her skin with  basic  Jergens Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Moisturizer  before the big night.

Lotioning up your gams and whatever else might be on display( she went for a super deep neckline) is a great way to finish up your look. I've seen them lotion up models right before walking down the  runway and any stylist/ makeup artist would tell you the same. What the product claims ?

My Take on the Product: 

I absolutely love this product. I had picked up a similar product from my trip to Dubai. It is same as this one except that the other one is Body Butter and hence its consistency is thicker than this lotion. 

I absolutely adore the yummy smell of cocoa butter which lingers on a moment and then fades away.

The consistency of the lotion is just right- not too thick and not too runny. 

The lotion is beige in color which is absorbed easily into your skin. 

It also does an excellent job of moisturizing your skin all day long. It is meant for dry and extra dry skinned people. I have dry skin on my body so this product suits me just fine. 

The product is decently priced which is great and its easily available in drug stores and hypermarkets. 

The flip cap is tight and sturdy which makes this product great for traveling. 

Love it or chuck it ?

Absolutely love it !!! After St.Ives - this is one lotion which I absolutely loved. . . Do give it a try.

Soap and Glory Coming to Sephora

You may remember Soap and Glory from Bliss founder Marica Kilgore in Target stores a few years back.  IT was never well stocked as the article in yesterday's WWD mentions. Eventually it got pulled all togther.  It's been selling bang up overseas though and now will hit Sephora here.

This lotion is great to use in every season especially winter when the weather is dry.
It does a great job of keep my hands moisturize for a long period of time.

The Body Shop Body Butters just got one better. They're now a duo.  Four new scents come in a double sided ying/yang pot with one side for normal skin, the other dry skin. Mario Badescu Summer Shine Body Lotion

  Mario Badescu  Summer Shine Body Lotion isn't new but is a new find for me. Thanks to The Makeup Show where I discover so many products, I've fallen for another Badescu product.

 Summer Shine imparts a nice bit of shimmer .  It seems many shimmer lotions I try really aren't noticeable. This is, but is still subtle. It's perfect for a  nice highlight to warmer weather's bare skin and also for doing some leg contour.

It's moisturizing, but light and has a great coconutty scent.

Venus Pro Skin Razor

The new Venus Pro Skin  is the kind of razor you can use without shaving cream . It gives you that much moisture due to  it's  "moisture rich" infused shave bars that surround the triple blade. The shave isn't quite as close due  to that moisture, but your legs  feel but soothed and soft. never  irritated ,.  A bonus to the moisture shave bars - I have a feeling they'll be easier on self tanner wear  than a more close  shave.

The Dial NutriSkin Body Washes were a nice addition to the mass market scene. Now to complement them, Dial has  NutriSkin Body Lotions .

I think of these as a solid, basic body lotion.  Ones not fancy looking but  that work and ones you can put out for the whole family ( if you have one). The kids and men can use it , no girly pink bottle here and there  is even a Men's version.

Where the body washes had nice scents, these have   just a slight lotion smell .They moisturize well ( I tried Extra Dry Skin and Soothing), are not sticky but yet are heavy enought to get the  job done.You can easily apply and get dressed without waiting. There are 4 types and all have Dial's patent pending formula with nutrients, vitamins and minerals.

-Dry Skin- Aloe, Vitamins C,E. F and amino acids, and Omega 3 and 6.
-Extra Dry Skin-Shea butter , Omega 3 and 6, Vitamins A,C,E and F.

Elemis Exotic Island Flower Body Balm

Need to escape to the tropics but can't exactly  do that right now ? Well how about some exotic frangipani monoi to get you smelling like the tropics?

Somehow, despite my love for many things Elemis, especially the other Frangipani Monoi products, Moisture Melt and Bath and Shower Cream, I had no idea there was a matching body balm. Mon Dieu.

 Called Exotic Island Flower Body Balm ,  it has the same delicious scent as the rest of the line. A scent that is  tropical, full of white flowers , a little coconut, a little gardenia and whisks you away like Calgon, only better. It really is hard to beat the fragrance in this.

The balm itself is not too thick even though it's called  balm. It's a thinner formula the dries fast and as I've  said, smells amazing . The scent lingers for a little while but not too long.

Ingredients include  "pure extracts of hydrating Marigold and soothing St. John’s Wort "  with an oat milk base as well as  hand-picked Jasmine, Ylang Ylang and Osmanthus .

St. Ives Naturally Indulgent Coconut Milk & Orchid Extract Body Lotion

St. Ives has brought us some winter weather helpers. Not only are there two new hydrating body washes but also new is this delicious smelling Coconut Milk and Orchid Extract body lotion( full name is actually Advanced Body Moisturizer).

 With a fragrance of tropical coconut and the light florals of the orchid, you can't help but smile a bit . It's aromatherapeutic .  Just what mother nature ordered.

This is very moisturizing but light enough to dry fast. No greasy feel. A great daytime lotion as you can get dressed right after applying. Plus you get a hint of that pretty scent.

St. Ives use no phthalates or parabens here which is nice . As well as no animal ingredients or animal testing. There is shea butter as well as orchid flower extract in there

 This is a  pump bottle lotion and is huge.  18 oz is more than a pound of lotion and at  $ 4.99  is a real  bargain.

Diptyque Luxurious Hand Balm and Rich Body Butter

When you think of Diptyque you most likely think first amazing candles, then perfume. Did you know they have bodycare as well?  That part of the brand  seems maybe to fly a bit under the radar, but like those candles, it's quality.

My favorites  are  the Luxurious Hand Balm and Creme Riche -Rich  Butter for the Body.

Both are  thick , creamy ,  easily blended and absorbed, and  give lasting moisturization.

The Luxurious Hand Balm  has macadamia seed oil, apricot kernel oil ,organic, virgin argan oil  as well as shea butter.

The Creme Riche body  butter  has a lovely fragrance of light herbs and  rosewater (one of the ingredients ). Also in there is organic honey, peach kernel oil, and  again the  argan  and macadamia seed oil .

Bring a little French chic  to your vanity with all of Diptyque's body line which also includes liquid hand soap , bath oil and products scented with best selling fragrances Philosykos and Tam Dao.

Clarins Tonic Body Treatment Oil

Highlighted in  Clarins fall/winter launch  is Body Treatment Oil in "Tonic". Tonic is meant to be, as well as super moisturizing,  refreshing and to help boost skin elasticity.

With essential Oils of Rosemary, Geranium, Peppermint  and Rosewood along with Hazelnut oil  this is a moisture powerhouse.  It's straight up oils which sink in super fast but leave behind softer skin with a pleasant herbal scent.  After a few minutes at most you have no residue, no oily feeling. It's not a "dry oil" but dries quickly.

It's fab for this cold weather most of us have been having. The bottle is glass- so be careful with oily hands, and is a large size at 3.4 oz. Enough to last all winter.

Clarins also recommends this as very good for treating stretch marks.
