Dove Nourishing Oil Care Shampoo and Conditioner

Personally I   have used Dove shampoo and Conditioner on and off for quite sometime now and it works wonders on my hair. I use Daily Moisture Range which suits very well for my hair. So when a new addition to Dove Family of Products was introduced -  The Nourishing Oil Care Range with Vita Oils, I was very excited to try it.

Healthy and Beautiful tresses are a result of the moisture or its inherent natural oils that we provide. Regular shampoos cleanses the hair but they also stripe away hair's natural oils , leaving it rough and frizzy after wash. Hence it is very essential to keep the nourishment intact while shampooing your hair.

New Dove Oil Care Range does just that with its Vita Oils - which is a blend of coconut, almond and sunflower oils that gets easily absorbed into the hair and replenishes it with essential Vitamins.

Dove Oil Care Shampoo
What the Company claims?

Dove Nourishing Oil Care Shampoo with Fiber Actives and Vita-Oils give Vitamin enriched nourishment to make your hair resilient to damage.
Price & Quantity: 123 INR for 200 ml.
Application:

My Experience with the Product:

I am a huge fan of Dove Products - Hence I was REALLY happy to see blend of oils specially almond oil which is a "Treat" for dry scalp and hair. It adds lustre to the hair while coconut oil gives a protein boost to the hair to keep it nourished.

The shampoo comes in a classy packaging - white and yellow bottle with a flip cap which dispenses yellow coloured shampoo with golden shimmers in it.

It has that typical Dove Product smell which is heavenly and lingers on with you.

The shampoo did a fab job of cleansing the hair - a little quantity of product lathers very well and cleanses your hair in one go.

My hair felt soft, manageable and non frizzy - which was good.

My hair looks and feels the same like I just stepped out of "SALON" - Soft, Smooth Shiny and Manageable hair. This result is patent of any Dove Shampoo and Conditioner that you use.

All in All, I loved the shampoo.

Dove Nourishing Oil Care Daily Treatment Conditioner

What the Company claims?

Dryness, which is the very first sign of damage, makes your hair look dull and feel rough. The reason behind this dryness of hair is lack of nourishment. That's why treat your hair with Dove Nourishing Oil Care Daily Treatment Conditioner that has the power of double nourishment. It is the next generation conditioner with golden ribbon inside that contains Vita-Oils to nourish your hair from deep within, leaving no greasiness on the outside. Its white ribbon that contains the conditioner locks-in the nourishment to keep dryness at bay. So, restore your hair's smoothness and softness with Dove Nourishing Oil Care Daily Treatment Conditioner.
Price & Quantity: 160 INR for 200 ml.
Application:

My Experience with the Product:

Dove Nutritive Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Conditioner is the “next generation” conditioner which is  i with treatment.

The conditioner comes in a tube like packaging which a flip cap top that dispenses two- coloured stripes of conditioner - white and yellow.

The toothpaste like conditioner is actually very light and gets easily spread onto wet hair. It works very well with the shampoo.

The mineral oils that are infused into the product doesn't make the conditioner heavy, instead it is weightless BUT be careful of the quantity you apply to your hair. Too much of the conditioner weighs your hair down and makes it limpy.

The overall effect of the conditioner is excellent providing the moisture and keeping the dryness away.

Love it or chuck it ?

Absolutely love it !!!

Have you tried out this Range of products yet??

Please Note: The products were gifted by the brand-Dove through a Indiblogger website.

Love Thy Brushes !!!

Hi everyone ...

Me back with another post ... This time I decided to share how I clean my makeup brushes... Its no rocket science .... But I decided to do a post about it - WELL JUST FOR THE HECK OF IT  . . . !!!

Everyone uses their own cleaning procedures and technique.... I try new techniques myself ... Dis time I tried the Michelle Phan Method ... hehehehehe... with a little twist of mine. . .   :)

So I start out with - Any Kind of Baby Oil, Any Shampoo (I use Dove) and lastly, Conditioner.

Then I take a plate and pour Baby oil onto the plate and Shampoo... like so...

Swirl your brush onto the mixture - The shampoo and oil help in removing pigments and makeup. The oil helps in removing traces of makeup as well as conditions your brushes bristles....

I squeezed off the mixture of shampoo and oil -- See how the mixture is removing all the old makeup?

Lastly I clean the brushes under running tap water and further condition the bristles of my brushes by swirling them in a mixture of water and Conditioner (1:1). Wash off the conditioner and you will notice how extra soft your brushes have become. . .

Lastly wipe the brushes dry ... blot out excess water and dry your brushes by tilting them downwards on a towel..  Keep them slanting on the towel so as to allow the water to seep out of the bristles....Leave it overnight ...

The next morning - Your brushes will be GOOD AS NEW !!!!

So tell me - How do you clean your makeup brushes ????

Redken Nature's Rescue

Redken has been a staple in my house for almost as long as I can remember . The Mom has been a Redken user since I was a kid. While many great brands are in the rotation here now, years ago when salon brands weren't as easy to come by Redken was the main one she used and eventually so did I.  Some of the hairsprays ( for me) and the Extreme line ( for her) are still part of our beauty closet staples.

Last month a new line hit the shelves, Nature's Rescue.  Meant to be super cleansing for your hair and to remove all the impurities that can build up,  it's paraben, sulfate and silicone free.

Whats in it are aloe vera, sea algae and soy proteins.

The  Refreshing Detox Shampoo and  Cooling Deep Conditioner both have a cooling feel, especially the conditioner, hence the name, as well as a light ocean breeze scent.

After using , my hair  does feel very clean with plenty of body. The shampoo is low lather but works fine without it. The conditioner is a lighter one , good for normal to oily hair but very dry may need something heavier. I have to say, when I use this, I can't help think of summer. It reminds me of pools and blue skys.

In addition to the  shampoo and conditioner, the line also includes a hair polish, which is a scrub for your hair, and really helps remove any build up,  and a Sea Spray for texture.

Full line:

Nature's Rescue  Refreshing Detox Shampoo $ 16.00
Nature's Rescue Refining Sea  Polish $ 19.00
Nature's Rescue Cooling Deep Conditioner $ 17.00
Nature's Rescue Radiant Sea Spray $ 17.00

Phyto Hair Volumizing Line

Winter brings hat hair. We have  full hair, then we need a hat and soon it gets a bit smushed. I like wearing hats and  have some many nice ones. Don't like hat hair.  This winter I decided to fight hat hair  by adding some volume products to my routine.  And  I  gave the  volumizing line  by one of my favorite  brands, Phyto a try.  They make amazing haircare and their Phyto 7 Daily  Leave In Hydrating  Creme is a staple  and one of the best I've used.

Phyto's Volumizing line consists  of  Phytovolume volumizer shampoo,Phyto Intense Volume Mousse, Phytovolume Actif volumizer spray and Phytodensium mask.

I didn't try the mask yet, but all the other products do a  bang up job , and you don't have to use them all. Just using the Volimizer spray at the roots will make a huge difference, but adding in the shampoo/conditioner combo is even better.

One thing that sets the Phyto shampoo apart from many other volumizing types, is that it has ingredients like yarrow to thicken hair. There is a difference between  volume and thickness. My  very fine haired  mom will tell you this as she's been though all the volume giving shampoos out there. ( She loves the Phyto and in fact , happily made off with my stash ).

The volume here lasts long which is another bonus and your hair feels conditioned and soft, but not weighed down. I love ,too, that there's a mousse. Mousse was big for years then disappeared. Mousse generally works so I'm happy to see it  making a comeback.

I am intrigued by , but as I said , didn't try the mask. It's said to regenerate hair with grapeseed and black currant seed oils. And has botanical proteins to thicken hair. I think that's far more moisture than my hair needs, but for fine hair,  worth trying.

You can see more at http://www.phyto-usa.com/
( the volume line is under "lifeless" hair and "styling").  Phyto is also available at Ulta stores.

Liz Earle -New Naturally Active Haircare Line

Liz Earle has added haircare to the lineup. There is one shampoo and 3 choices in conditioner.

The shampoo is Botanical Shine Shampoo. It  works for all hair types and has shea butter,  Vitamin E, Aloe Vera , apple and orange extracts and 8 essential oils in it.The formula is SLS  & SLES free.

Being for all hair types, the shampoo was  just right , and basic.  Not too moisturizing but not too light either. I have pretty much normal hair so it worked nicely. Despite all the essential oils the scent isn't too strong , just a nice orange -citrus one. My hair  was soft and not stripped feeling.

The Conditioners are Normal Hair, Oily, or Dry/Damaged.
I used Normal which was just enough conditioning but I do think that maybe I would have liked the Dry/Damaged one better even though my hair isn't. Ultimately I needed a bit more moisture but my hair didn't feel or look dry after blow drying ( and I do use a light leave in ).  The Normal has meadowfoam oil, the Dry /Damaged- Shea Butter.

The line will debut in November.

Botanical Shine Shampoo: $14.50 for 6.7 fl. oz
Botanical Shine Conditioner for Normal Hair: $14.50 for 6.7 fl. oz
Botanical Shine Conditioner for Dry or Damaged Hair: $14.50 for 6.7 fl. oz
Botanical Shine Conditioner for Oily Hair: $14.50 for 6.7 fl. oz

Herbal Essences Tousled Hair Collection

Herbal Essences is bringing us haircare for a "tousled " look. Every time new hair products come out they are sleekifying, straightening, for severe damage, frizz taming. You almost never see something for thick hair, short hair, and yes, tousled hair, i.e a shag style cut or layers. ( Although longer hair gals who want undone, messy waves fall into "tousled" category too).

I have a modified shag that is fairly short. Oh and it's as straight as could be. I'm glad of that, but I was happy when I saw this new Tousle Me Softly line. These are for me I thought and I can go right to the drugstore for them. I know all those other lines are much needed, but it's nice someone finally gets it( besides Sally Hershberger)- that the whole world does not have the same hair needs. What happened to us shorter hair gals?

I love to spike, fluff, and piece out my layers especially at the top. I am an all out gel girl because they do the best job of defining and holding.

The Tousled line has a spray gel (finally making a comeback, I used to use spray gels a lot years ago), a mousse ( again welcome back), a hairspray, a finishing creme ,and of course, a shampoo and conditioner.

The shampoo/conditioner combo made my hair super soft but not limp. I added in the spray gel before drying and got decent hold and defined pieces. The hairspray is a much stronger hold than they tell you, which is fine by me , but high humidity will break it down some.

The line launches in stores July 1, but more info and images are available at :
