LUSH Celebrate Lip Balm

LUSH gets me good with their holiday lip balms. Last year it was the incrediby delish Maple Taffy. This year brings Celebrate, a pink tinted , champagne flavored balm.

The balm gets a dusting of gold leaf particles( you can use them or not) and definitely has a sweet champagne taste that's quite good. Almond oil makes it very moisturizing and cognac, lemon, and grapefruit oils make it taste  great.

The tint is a light , slightly opaque pink with  some shimmer.

LUSH Dirty For Men ( & Father's Day)

What could be better for men than a Line called Dirty ? Leave it to LUSH.

Timed right for Father's Day here in the US , these are fun, useful products that any guy would like. My dad was quite thrilled with the Springwash  shower gel   which can be used for body and hair. He said  it did really well as a shampoo. ( and despite being very much a man's man,who works in dirt most days,  he's fussy about shampoo. ) It smells of mint and herbs and can easily be unisex.

The body spray went over well too and I thought it smelled pretty nice. This is the time to up your guy from Axe  .

With minty and woodsy scents that aren't too strong but fresh and  refreshing,  the new line consists of shave cream, shower gel, body spray , hair gel and a nice gift set all wrapped up to go.

LUSH’s Dirty Gift ($19.95)

Contains: Dirty toothy tabs 0.09g, Dirty perfume 2ml, Dirty Springwash shower gel 100ml, Dirty shaving cream 45g, Dirty hair cream 15g.

The individual items:

Dirty Spring Wash Shower Gel ($9.95 for 3.3oz, $17.95 for 8.4oz, $26.95 for 16.9oz)- Minty with thyme and sea salt  that conditions skin.

Dirty Shaving Cream ($12.95)- Uses softening oats and benzoin, with lavender and sandalwood.  Smells great ( you might want to borrow this one ).

Dirty Hair Gel ($12.95)- Firm hold   and conditioning with fair trade coconut oil, linseed oil and balm herbal infusion.

Dirty Body Spray ($19.95)-  Herbs and woods .  Mountain fresh and light.

Paws and Listen from LUSH and The Vancouver Humane Society

I am happy to support LUSH's new campaign to help end sled dog races and tours in British Columbia , Canada. The new initiative is called Paws and Listen and came about after the story hit the news of the slaughtering of 100 sled dogs near Whistler, Canada last April.

Many people may not know about the cruel conditions that can happen in the dog sledding sport. Whenever in the past I have mentioned it to someone, they invariably say, those dogs are worth so much money and the handlers love them and take great care of them. Well some do, and many don't and we can't possibly always know  what goes on in the  places where racing is prevalant. It's like horse racing. Just because it's an expensive animal doesn't mean it's worth something if it doesn't perform or that people feel the need to treat an animal well to get results.  This is certainly not true in all cases , but it's good to be aware that cruelty and mistreatment are far more common than you may know.  Among other things, this is an unregulated industry, where it’s legal to shoot sled dogs without reason.

Paws and Listen encourages you to be aware and also to sign a petition on the LUSH site if you want. There are also these very cute LE Paw soaps from LUSH ( and I adore anyhting with the Paw motif). The soaps are $ 5.95 and 100% of proceeds will  go to the Vancouver Humane Society's campaign to stop sledding. The soaps are fragranced with sandalwood and citrus. They are in store only in BC, but available everywhere online.

LUSH Mandarin's Tea Party Soap

Mandarin's Tea Party  is making my shower/bathroom  smell so good. This is one soap that manages to act like a room scent as well as a soap. The scent lingers for hours. It's not really that mandarin smelling but  more full out orange blossom/neroli with a bit of citrus  in the mix . Seriously pretty and zesty, it's also very moisturizing. I've been able to  forgo lotion after using.

This is a holiday soap from LUSH so grab it while you can as it is LE.

$ 6.95 for 3.5 oz

LUSH Maple Taffy Lip Balm

I'm calling LUSH's new Maple Taffy Lip Balm the fall classic. If you love maple then you must try it. It's that good. It is obviously very maple but it's not a sweet, sweet maple. Sweet yes, but not Aunt Jemima sweet. More like the real syrup with natural sugars would taste with a hint of burnt sugar.

LUSH uses 20% maple syrup to get that authentic goodness.  There is also shea  and illipe butters for lots of moisture. So not only does this taste and smell good it  has long lasting moisture. It lasted hours  for me.  There's no shine or color .

It's like a decadant snack but without the calories.

LUSH Cynthia Sylvia Stout Shampoo

One of Lush's newest is Cynthia Sylvia Stout shampoo. Yes it has beer. Real beer. Irish Stout. It's also a great shampoo.

Smelling a bit of the beer ( and only a bit) with some citrus and herbs, this makes your hair so soft that you need less conditioner. Loads of shine and it seemed to brighten up the color of my hair as well.

Ingredients include Lemon and Cognac Oil.
