Lancome debuts new lipstick line at Chris Benz Spring 2012

Lancome always tries  new products  during fashion week and Lancome always comes up a good one for Chris Benz . The new lip breaking here is Rouge In Love which is a 21 shade line of lipsticks . Used here is shade Sequence of Love.

"The makeup muse for Chris Benz's Spring 2012 collection was Candy Darling, a 1960's nightclub fixture who was part of Andy Warhol’s clique. With Candy and Chris’ bright colors as inspiration, lead makeup artist Daniel Martin wanted to create fresh, clean skin with a pop of color on the eyes and lips. Daniel used shades of sea foam and mint green on the eyes and then applied black gel liner for definition. For thick jet-black lashes, he applied "tons of mascara." A wash of tangerine blush was applied high on the cheekbones and Lancôme’s new Rouge in Love lipstick gave the models a bright pouty lip. "

Chris Benz goes Mad Men for Resort

Many designers are showing resort collections now. Some of these shows bring us some of the nicest clothes and while they don't get as much attention as other shows, they're worth looking at.

Chris Benz seemed channel the Mad Men look for hair and makeup at his show. Makeup artist Daniel Martin calls it “1950's Californian Lady-of-Leisure" which places it before Mad Men, but the look carried over into the early 60's as well. Either way , it looks smashing on the model.

What was used :

Fuchsia lips paired with eyes that were lined on top (“just don’t call it a cat eye,” says Daniel) finished with sculpted cheeks and full, shaped brows.

To create the look, Daniel used Lancôme’s new Teint Idole Fresh Wear Foundation, Blush Subtil in Mauve Coquette and Tropiques Minérale Bronzer in Natural Sunkiss.

For the eyes, Daniel lined with Artliner in Noir and topped lashes with Hypnôse Mascara. The bright lips are courtesy of Le Crayon in Berry (all over the lip) topped with Color Fever Lipstick in Rock Icon Fuchsia.

Lancome and Chris Benz- Fall 2010

Chris Benz's inspiration this season was the Outward Bound Debutante. The girl who gets in trouble at her private school and gets sent to wilderness camp. You know her, the one who takes her stillettos , not realizing she'll not quite need those.

While backstage I not only got to meet the friendly and extremely calm Mr. Benz , but also a peek at a few pieces hanging on the racks. I love the plaid , it's retro, almost 60s, but I love plaid and the jeweled collars were such a wow. There was also a great metallic infused knit top, that is classic american sportswear. ( But please don't ask about those fur mittens. I don't do fur and I really don't do those).

Daniel Martin of Lancome created the look , along with Chris and calls it Gothic Chic. He went for a brown lip, very 90s, but made more modern. To get that lip he used a brow pencil and then a new for fall bronze lipstick. He explains the brow pencil technique in my video, posted separately.

We have been seeing and he agreed, that this is an upcoming trend possibly. An also new for fall eyeshadow was used and the blush is one of my all time favorites- Cappucine.
