NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream - Addis Ababa Review & Swatches

I had first seen NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream on Kandee Johnson's Youtube channel and YES ! I was so fascinated by the color and the texture of the Lip Cream which Kandee couldn't stop praising about. I had to try the NYX Lip Cream for myself and I immediately got it from my online shopping haul from Porkdaisy site. 

I have had this Lip Cream for quite a long time now and after using it a dozen times I think I am at better position to let you all know what I think about it ---

First Look at the Product:   

NYX Soft matte lip cream comes in a transparent plastic tube packaging with a black screw on cap which has a regular doe foot sponge applicator inside.

The black screw cap of the tube has a matte finish which is really classy and sleek.

The applicator picks up enough product for a single application. 


My Take On the Product:

The first thing I noticed the moment the lip cream arrived - was the shade !! I thought I will never have the courage to carry such a shade on my lips. The shade is a blue based bright pink color. The shade is a true fuchsia color which made me shudder at the thought of sporting such a bright color on my lips. Thankfully ! The shade doesn't show up that bright after application on your lips. 

 The product has a vanilla like fragrance to it.  The texture is light, soft and cream like... Its absolute treat on your lips.


I am absolutely in love with the Lip Cream - it glides onto your lips and a single swipe instantly manages to color your lips. You can easily go overboard with this particular shade of the lip cream. Hence I recommend dabbing the sponge applicator onto your lips and then using a clean finger to spread the color evenly. 

The lip cream instantly sets onto your lips to give a matte effect look which is not drying. However, In winters they give a cracky appearance to your lips hence I suggest topping the lip cream off a good amount of gloss. 

The staying power is EXCELLENT - They wont budge from your lips for good 6- 7 hours. The color pay off is a WINNER !! They ll remain on your lips even after you had your meals. 

The amount of lip cream required to apply on your lips is very little. So one tube of lip cream will last for ages. Dab once on your lips to give it a slight tint on your lips and apply a gloss over it to give it a glossy healthy pink lips. 

You can also layer twice to give a opaque matte pink lips effect. If you layer the lip cream more than once It will give you major cracky appearance to your lips... 

For all the girls who love - Absolute Matte, Opaque, Long Lasting Color on you lips... These babies are for you .... 

I am in love with this babies - I am thinking of getting more shades .... Antwerp and San Paulo !!!

NYX New Summer Colors Round Lipstick

NYX 's Round lipstick line has added 24 new shades for summer to the existing line, which totals a whopping 144 in all.

The lipsticks are super creamy with good coverage, moisturizers and last nicely.  For $ 4 you're bound to find a great summer shade  or two and not break the bank. The quality here is excellent for the price.

My three shades shown are Uberchic, Vivaldi and Stella. You all know I love my neutrals but a puncy peachy coral is a nice change once in awhile.

New from NYX Cosmetics-Summer

NYX cosmetics is coming out with a new bronzer for that summer tan without the sun.

According to the company "This bronzer provides a "just tanned" look with a touch of rose which warms the skin and adds a spark of shimmer. You can also use NYX Cosmetics Body Bronzer as an eye shadow or blush."

NYX has not been sold anywhere near where I live until very recently, so I had never been able to try the line, but had heard some good things.

First , this bronzer is huge. The case is 4 1/2 inches . It is also really nice. You need a big enough brush, but it definitely gave me a sunkissed look.

At first I got a little too much on my pale skin and it was muddy, but once I applied more carefully, and let it set, it looked great. I loved having some color in the cold.

There is just a bit of shimmer in it, enough to give some glow, but not enough to be too much. This can be worn day or night, and I did try it as a blush also, and was really happy with it .

This compares well with any of the other bronzers I have tried. I haven't had great luck with powders, preferring gel/creams. This is a powder that works.

To complement the bronzer, a beautiful peachy gold nail polish called Aurora, and a gold pink ( which leans to a medium pink) mega-gloss joins the line.
