Yardley of London Hamper Review

I received Yardley of London Hamper for review purposes. Since its Hot as Hell in mumbai - I use up deodorants in a jiffy..

I am a huge fan of fragrances - Be it Deodorants or perfumes. So reviewing this hamper is going to be fun !!

So Here is the hamper which I will be reviewing today ----

My Experience with the Products:

Yardley of London is such a old brand -- I remember my mom using its talc - Thus the products bring back a fond memory.

Product : Yardley Of London Deodorant - English Lavender
Price: 150 INR  for 150 ml

I absolutely loved the deodorant - The smell of which is floral lavender which is intense and lingers on the whole day.

The fragrance of the deodorant is not over empowering which is good.

The top notes are floral which then settle down to kind of a sweet fragrance.

The deodorant was skin friendly - did not give me any skin irritation at all.

The product is economically priced for the quantity it provides.

I can't find anything wrong with this product-  love this deodorant - I wear it everyday  :)

Product :Yardley Of London Soap -  English Lavender:
Price: 40 INR for 100 gms

This soap comes in a cardboard box packaging and inside the soap is packed in a paper which has the same print as the outer box packing.

The soap is light purple - lavender colour.

The smell of the soap is same as that of lavender deodorant. It is floral and tends to linger on for hours after you use it.

The soap is very skin- friendly. It doesn't dry out your skin and do not cause any skin irritation.

It leaves your skin moisturised after you use it.

The soap is decently priced and lasts you for a long time. It does not melt easily.

I absolutely love using this soap and layering lavender deodorant - so as to lock its floral fragrance which stays with you the whole day.

Have you used these products yet ?? I have a Contest Running where you can win the same YARDLEY OF LONDON HAMPERS... ENTER THE GIVEAWAY HERE

Please note: The hamper was sent by the company's PR for consideration.

Makari De Suisse Clarifying Exfoliating Soap

I was so delighted to see this soap. It is so cute and small. I have never used an exfoliating soap before so this was the first time - So after using this for sometime now .. Here's the review. . .

Product: Makari Clarifying Exfoliating Soap
Quantity: 200 gms
Price: 800 Rupees

This soap can be purchased online from Makari website.

About Makari Clarifying Exfoliating Soap:
Thanks to its natural properties, this Triple action soap helps provide you with the complexion you aspire to. The soap offers an ideal treatment to prepare the skin for the enhanced effectiveness of the entire range of Makari de Suisse Skin Clarifying products.

Skin Type & Usage Instructions:
Suitable for all skin types. Use daily in the bath or shower. For maximum effect of the soaps whitening properties please keep lather on for at least 5 minutes.

My experience with the product:

The first thing i noticed about this soap was its shape and how cute and small it is. The shape is same as the benzene ring structure - Hexagonal - something which I could relate to very quickly as I studied chemistry.
I loved the smell of this soap.
The soap lathers up very well. I dont use this soap directly on my face. I lather it up on my wet hands and then use the lather on my face.
The granules on the soap can be a bit harsh on the face.
I did experiment by keeping the lather on my face for a while before washing it off - but it made no difference.
The soap does a good job of exfoliating my skin.
It does improve the skin texture a bit - making it soft and supple.
The only thing I am a bit skeptical about this product is THE PRICE - its a bit too high for a soap!!

Love it or chuck it ?
I would not buy this soap because of its exorbitant price !

Please note: The product was sent by the company's PR for consideration.

Caswell-Massey Natural Bath Soaps

Luxury bath soaps are a special treat anytime. As it happens Mother's Day is almost here and  they make a great gift for mom.

Caswell-Massey has a new Naturals  luxury line  consisting of five new scents :Lemon Verbena, Lavender &Violet, Oatmeal, Fresh Cut Flowers and Ocean.

The come individually, but you want really want, gift wise, is the 3 box set. It's presented in a  sturdy box  and color matched to the soap inside

The Natural line soaps  all have ingredients of  shea butter, glycerin, Vitamin E as well as an organic vegetable base and are free of  parabens, phthalates, lauryl and laureth sulfates.   The colors are derived from beet juice and plant chlorophyll.

They  are  triple milled,  very large and have strong scent.   I've been using some  as room scent , just left out with the wrapping still on and let me tell you they have throw.

The two scents I've tried are Lavender-Violet  which is soft, mainly lavender with a hint of woodsy violet, and Fresh Cut Flowers, a lush bouquet of tuberose, rose and green notes . Fresh Cut Flowers really smells like fresh flowers right out  of the florist. It's my favorite.   I am thinking the Lemon Verbena must be wonderful as well.

Caswell-Massey is available at http://www.caswellmassey.com/  and  also at all Neiman Marcus stores.

The set of three soaps is $ 40.00

Paws and Listen from LUSH and The Vancouver Humane Society

I am happy to support LUSH's new campaign to help end sled dog races and tours in British Columbia , Canada. The new initiative is called Paws and Listen and came about after the story hit the news of the slaughtering of 100 sled dogs near Whistler, Canada last April.

Many people may not know about the cruel conditions that can happen in the dog sledding sport. Whenever in the past I have mentioned it to someone, they invariably say, those dogs are worth so much money and the handlers love them and take great care of them. Well some do, and many don't and we can't possibly always know  what goes on in the  places where racing is prevalant. It's like horse racing. Just because it's an expensive animal doesn't mean it's worth something if it doesn't perform or that people feel the need to treat an animal well to get results.  This is certainly not true in all cases , but it's good to be aware that cruelty and mistreatment are far more common than you may know.  Among other things, this is an unregulated industry, where it’s legal to shoot sled dogs without reason.

Paws and Listen encourages you to be aware and also to sign a petition on the LUSH site if you want. There are also these very cute LE Paw soaps from LUSH ( and I adore anyhting with the Paw motif). The soaps are $ 5.95 and 100% of proceeds will  go to the Vancouver Humane Society's campaign to stop sledding. The soaps are fragranced with sandalwood and citrus. They are in store only in BC, but available everywhere online.

LUSH Mandarin's Tea Party Soap

Mandarin's Tea Party  is making my shower/bathroom  smell so good. This is one soap that manages to act like a room scent as well as a soap. The scent lingers for hours. It's not really that mandarin smelling but  more full out orange blossom/neroli with a bit of citrus  in the mix . Seriously pretty and zesty, it's also very moisturizing. I've been able to  forgo lotion after using.

This is a holiday soap from LUSH so grab it while you can as it is LE.

$ 6.95 for 3.5 oz
